Le lundi 7 juillet 2025, le Tribunal de grande instance de Dakar a jugé en audience de flagrants délits une candidate au baccalauréat interpellée au centre des Parcelles Assainies pour détention et usage présumé de téléphone portable pendant l’épreuve de philosophie.
Selon le rapport de surveillance, la candidate a été surprise en train d’utiliser un iPhone, avec l’application ChatGPT ouverte. Elle aurait refusé de remettre l’appareil sur demande, ce qui a conduit à son arrestation par la police.
À la barre, la candidate a affirmé avoir gardé le téléphone dans sa poche après l’avoir utilisé pour réviser avant l’épreuve, niant toute tentative de triche.
Le parquet a requis l’application stricte de la loi, rappelant l’interdiction des téléphones dans les centres d’examen.
Le tribunal a prononcé la relaxe, mais a infligé à la candidate une amende de 50 000 FCFA pour infraction au règlement.
